30% natural

I just washed my hair and realized I’m about 30% natural! After my last haircut, I pretty much have all natural hair (with no relaxed ends) in the back. Wow! My hair has grown incredibly fast in the back. I have a really nice little fro back there. The sides are still chin length. I don’t have as much growth in the front and no breakage, so I decide to hold on to the length and straighten the back to blend.  Thankfully the front, when moisturized and blowdried/flat ironed, blend evenly with my relaxed ends.

Today’s routine (see previous hair product posts for exact products):

  • Wash with Biolage shampoo
  • Condition with Yes to Carrots
  • Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave-in
  • Heat protectant
  • Blowdry
  • Glycerin
  • Flat Iron
  • Seal in moisture with Hot Six oil
  • Add wax to edges
  • Wrap with scarf overnight

*Update:  I may need to drop either the glycerin or use a lighter leave-in.  With the rain today, my hair was absorbing water like crazy leaving my hair very soft (a good thing) and kind of flat (still with curls, but think water logged).  The water absorption would be good if my hair was long.  It could just hang straight, but being short, it just becomes lifeless and lookes like I’ve been caught in a rain.  Not really any reversion, but I think my hair should be a little dryer.  I have too much of a good thing going on.
